Looe Festival of Food and Drink
Following the great success of Looe’s first food and drink festival last year, TASTE South East Cornwall is delighted to announce the dates for this year… Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June and is guaranteeing a bigger and better event than before. With a larger pavilion hosting more local producers, a more diverse range of produce from in and around the south west, this event is a MUST for any foodie.
As before, taking centre stage will be leading Cornish food and drink suppliers, from the Tamar to The Lizard, Bude to Looe. They will be displaying and offering for sale a plethora of superb produce, from chutneys to cheeses, confectionery to locally landed fish and seafood, speciality beers and mouth-watering meats, from the traditional to the unique.
Chefs from local restaurants, will be staging demonstrations throughout the two days, again using local produce and, where possible, using produce from the suppliers participating in the Festival itself. Recipes will be handed out to those watching the demonstrations and wanting to try the dishes themselves at home.
Catering outlets will surround the pavilion offering hot and cold food for anyone wanting to buy.
The two day event takes place in a purpose built pavilion in the Millpool car park, on the banks of the picturesque East and West Looe River from 10am until 6pm, and entry is free. Access and parking is easy and convenient and transport links are excellent.
TASTE South East Cornwall will be launching an official website, www.looefoodfestival.com

The Zip at Adrenalin Quarry, in South East Cornwall, is the UK’s biggest ever zip wire. Longest at 490m; highest at 50m; fastest at 40mph. Twin parallel wires cross the flooded depths of the old quarry, sheer cliffs rise on either side. No need to book The Zip is the only place in the UK where you can just turn up and jump. No fuss, no pre-booking.
New Ride the Giant Swing
Perched at the top of our cliffs, The Giant Swing hangs 50ft off the ground, 150ft over water. You’re hoisted to 80° then plunged 3-at-a-time over the lake. Just when you think there’s no turning back, you pull out of the dive, briefly experience zero gravity, before doing it all again – backwards.
Coasteering
Coasteering at Adrenalin Quarry is unique. We’ve got The Blob... Your friend sits on the end of a 12x3m inflatable tube. You climb up the floating tower and jump onto the tube. Your friend shoots up into air, down in water. You’re next. It’s a massive hit here for 2012.

Two great wildlife video's, most was filmed in the Looe area
‘Cornwall - The Wild Peninsula’ follows the wildlife of Cornwall throughout the seasons of the year. Most visitors to Cornwall spend their time here visiting the fantastic beaches and tourist attractions, the locals know of another Cornwall - the one where an incredible amount of wildlife lives right here, on our doorsteps. This film is a celebration of those wild treasures. Quite a bit of the film was shot in the Looe area.

Walkaboutwest offer a professional guiding service on Bodmin Moor or across Cornwall. Mark Camp is a fully qualified Blue Badge Tour Guide and is one of only a handful of guides accredited to guide at Cornish Mining World Heritage sites in the county.
For Mark the moors mean open space and an abundance of history. He rarely has a day on the moor when he does not find something new to look at and his quest to document all of the prehistoric sites on the moor has led to him walking to some very distant corners of it. Mark Camp
